Leopard
I finally got Mac OS X Leopard installed on my Mac mini the other day. I was having a problem because Leopard required at least 512 MB of RAM to install, and the installer program would not let me install it with only 256 MB of RAM. I do want to go for a memory upgrade eventually, but for now I need to work with what I have. After looking around the net, I found a solution to my problem which involved mucking around in the Terminal and burning myself a new DVD. I installed it on an external FireWire drive, just in case there was a problem so that I could still use Tiger if something went wrong, and also because I have only 4 GB free on the internal drive. I must say that Leopard performs quite well on only 256 MB of RAM, especially since it is being run from a FW drive and not from an internal IDE drive. There are a few things about Leopard that I either don’t like or haven’t gotten used to yet, but the good outweighs the bad in this case.
